It's been a good week for Austin, TX band The Wild Now. Yesterday saw the announcement of their inclusion in this year's ACL lineup, and today Breathe Heavy has premiered the newest single from their upcoming Afterglow EP. Stream below and check out the band's summer tour dates HERE.
MINKA are a dance band in Philadelphia who have gained a cult following in their hometown for their wild live shows, but with the release of "Gravity," the band reflect on the uncertainty of our times as our political, cultural, and environmental climates seem to be slipping out of our control. The band don't lose their signature dance vibes on the track, but the lyrics take a turn from the foot loose ethos for which they have come to be known. The song appears on their May 26 EP, Born in the Viper Room.
Austin's own Desert Culture have just released their new LP, They're Not Gone, and the folks over at OVRLD are streaming it in full for your listening pleasure. Floco Torres is leading up to the release of his new EP, again, and has just put out the first single. "You!" shows off Floco's smooth flows and verbose lines all over the sleek R&B instrumental music that simmers underneath the dense lyrics. The song has melodic music interludes that will stay with you like Floco's lyrics but also will get you grooving. Fallow Land, a two piece out of Ann Arbor, have just premiered their new single, "Faux," over at Atwood Magazine. The song is a highly percussive experiment in start and stop-- piercing guitar hooks flit in and out of the mix, the smooth and airy vocals glide over it all, while crunchy synths add a bit of weight to the tune. This textured indie rock has some nostalgic value to it, harkening back to your emo days with its intermittent percussion.
