In the second installation of the LA Music Critic Awards, highlighting the best of the second half of 2014, Cancers take home "Best Rock" for their debut LP Fatten the Leeches and Ugly Kids Club are awarded "Best Pop" for the Head Games EP they released September 30.

Brooklyn producer Loveskills shared a new video from his Pure EP on Friday, in advance of his release show at Mercury Lounge tonight, January 12. "Chanel" is the 4th cut off the 6-song EP and Village Voice referred to the video as woozy and endearingly hazy.

After a significant hiatus from releasing new music, Aussie/Chicago songstress Via Tania is back with a new single and promise of a new full-length to be released late February via Narooma Records. The track premiered with Australian music magazine Mess and Noise, who called it "a beautifully disembodied ballad" and "an intimate showcase of Bowers’ breathy coyness and lingering lyrics."
