Earthquake Lights drop new track from Distress Signals

Brooklyn quintet Earthquake Lights have just released the newest single from their upcoming LP Distress Signals over at The 405. The band combine elements of jazz with their indie rock tendencies and make music that’s easy to get lost in, confirmed by The 405 when they say, “Overall it's a subtly disorienting experience in the most positive of ways where everything comfortably blurs together and washes over you and pulling you into its vortex.” Take a listen below on Soundcloud, stream it on Spotify, or preorder the album via Bandcamp.

Newscast debut new single "Undercover" on Substream Magazine

Newscast, a new duo comprised of Hayden Boyd and Sal Almakky, release the first official single from their upcoming EP. "Undercover" walks the line between 80s new-wave nostalgic dance bop and sentimental ballad, with pulsating synths and lush melodies. The track explores a tumultuous restart to a relationship; feelings not only of hope, but also of fear, when one party wants to go public with the romance, but the other is leery of getting back into a relationship. With soaring choruses and earnest lo-fi synth grooves, Newscast deliver a dance-worthy and lush pop track, premiering on Substream Magazine.

Timothy Eerie shares new single and video at Ghost Cult Magazine

Ghost Cult Magazine has the premiere of a new hazy psych romp from Austin’s Timothy Eerie. The track, “Transformation of Things” is a swirling sprawling trip that begins calmly, as all fever dreams do, with labored percussion and reverb drenched vocals. As it marches on, with distorted electric guitar interspersed, the song slowly spirals into a fuzzy noise rocker and is mirrored with the wild animation of the video. Ghost Cult calls it “a must listen for fans of the buttery-toned psych rock’n’roll.” Peep it below or over on Ghost Cult Magazine.

Okey Dokey team up again with Liz Cooper for a Valentine's Day treat

Okey Dokey team up again with fellow psych-soul artist and friend, Liz Cooper, for a special Valentine's Day duet for the lovers that’s making it’s debut as Paste Magazine’s Daily Dose! Liz's voice melds perfectly with Okey Dokey's pysch soul sound, as she sings the role of someone interested in taking up a moment, while Aaron sings about wanting to hold on to a spark for longer than just a night. Filled with a few chemistry puns, and two people wanting different things but failing to communicate, the track touches the different sides of catching feels in 2019. The two explain their parts further:

"We got together and really tried to create something that felt like what actual chemistry might be like. My parts feel dark and distant, Liz’s Feel soft and engaging and they meshed really well. We’re all lovers, so we wrote about being a little hopeless."
- Aaron Martin

“I wanted 'Modern Chemistry' to feel like a millennial romance song. it seems like people aren’t interested in true burning love anymore and are much more into an empty one night stand (pun intended).”
-Liz Cooper
