"The title of the album could just as easily be 'No Language Barrier,' because it shows ammons and a varied cast breaking through the walls that attempt to separate one musical style from another," says John Schaeffer of shirlette ammons' new full-length, Language Barrier. Featuring a wide range of guest vocalists, the album swings from hip-hop to rock, R&B, and chamber pop with a surprisingly cohesive result. It's out February 5 on Churchkey and SugarQube Records.
