Memory Keepers share lyric video for "Faint Ink"

Austin’s Memory Keepers have shared a rad lyric video for their recently released single, “Faint Ink.” The lovely Week In Pop has the premiere of the video, which was done by visual analog artist, Astral Violet. About this, Jared Paul Boulanger of Memory Keepers had this to say:

Astral Violet is the moniker of analog mixed media visual artist Sydney Quezada. They’ve worked with artists like MBV, Roky Erickson, King Gizzard & more. Astral Violet’s stunning visual projections found them on some of the best bills in town (Austin, TX) as soon as they moved here, which is how we came to meet them. After they projected their light show on us at a few Memory Keepers gigs, we thought their trippy, visual experience would be the perfect backdrop to our new lyric video “Faint Ink”. It feels good to be completely absorbed in their light, while performing on stage...I could honestly watch their visuals for hours, sync’d to many types of music and be totally lost in space.

"Faint Ink" is the title track to Memory Keepers' new 7-inch (released 3/1/19). Their new lyric/music video features an analog, mixed-media light show projected by Sydney Quezada (Astral Violet). Dir. Sydney Quezada https://www.facebook.com/astralviolet http://www.memorykeepersmusic.com

Evan Thomas Way & The Phasers share new track at OPB Music

Portland's Evan Thomas Way & The Phasers release a third single from their upcoming Long Distance LP. A mix of americana and jazz elements bathe the track in a golden light. A tune with soft textures, it soon opens up into a soaring melancholic lament with the help of key saxophone solo:

“'Gone' was one of the very last songs written and recorded for the album. I remember immediately thinking about how perfect it would be for my friend Ben Latimer to play sax on. He’s a genius musician, and I know he could translate the emotion of the song into an expressive solo, and sure enough – he went above and beyond my expectations. It’s a simple two chord song about lost love, but I think with the help of Ben’s playing and some choice Luna-inspired guitar work from Raymond, we were able to elevate it to something really special.”

red steppes share new song at The Deli

Brooklyn via Oakland artist red steppes have shared a new single from their forthcoming full-length for Native Cat Recordings via The Deli, who compare her styled finger picking to that of Kaki King. The artist states that the song is her way of coping with chronic illness in a society that discounts the testament of women's bodies. She wrote the gorgeous track to "keep an account of who I am when I’m not in the worst of it and trust her to carry me through when I am." She goes on to say the song "is for anybody who’s had to commit that kind of radical trust, for whatever reason." Stream it below and preorder the album via Bandcamp.
