Detroit's Willa Rae Adamo launches new feminist solo project

Willa Rae Adamo, a backbone of the Detroit music scene and co-founder of Girls Rock Detroit, has launched a new solo project celebrating the power of one real loud guitar and the unbreakable femme spirit reclaiming cock rock. Valerie the Vulture recently released a new video for first single “James Dean” which calls upon its iconic bad boy namesake and coming-of-age imagery to tell the story of a girl who is mistaking sex for love. Whippoorwill share glorious new indie-folk tune at MxDwn

Fort Collins, CO trio Whippoorwill will see the release of a new LP, The Nature of Storms, on November 15. California-based singer-songwriter Lady Lazarus has released the latest single from her upcoming LP, Impossible Journey of My Soul Tonight, due out October 18.
